Kundalini is the name for a kind of yoga - kundalini yoga. In its theory there are seven energy-centers in the human body, starting at the base of your spine and ending at the top of your head. Although it is taught that it is nse to practice it until you're in your forties, many people find the center at the base of the spine awakening on its own while they are in their teens or twenties - and can exhibit some pretty scary signs. I would bet that about half of you younger folks who are on psych medication have had this spontaneous awakening, but it will be a loooong time before psychiatry wises up to this fact.
THE book to read is by a woman named Barbara Hand Clow and is called THE LIQUID LIGHT OF SEX.

this reminds me of a relative of mine. he always talks about eastern philosophy and esoteric things. he tried to teach me how to awake the "cosmic snake" and things like that. it is strange but somehow cool.
